Perilous Thunderstorms, Flooding Threatens New York to Louisiana

The storm system that unleashed deadly thunderstorms and flooding downpours in the lower Mississippi Valley on Friday and Saturday will spark more dangerous storms today. Destructive thunderstorms will threaten cities and towns from Syracuse to New Orleans. (AccuWeather)

This morning was perfect it wasnt to hot or cold it was just right, with just the slightest amount of wind. Although toward the afternoon it started to get warmer with a UV of 10 out of 16. The proper apperal for today would be anything really from shorts to jeans and a t shirt but a jacket wouldnt be the best thing to wear today. The high for toady was 77F and the low was 49F no percipition just wonderful rays of sun. Tomorrow will be partly cloudy with a high of 81F and a low of 52F. Widespread threat of flooding rain, severe storms

Flooding downpours and severe storms extend from the Ohio Valley to the northern Gulf Coast.the rain that has already fallen, an area of three to eight inches of rain will stretch from Mississippi and Alabama, through Tennessee, into the Ohio Valley during the remainder of the weekend and into Monday. It is not out of the question for another part of the region to pick up a foot of rain.

Todays Weather Report


This morning was reasonably sunny but just the slightest bit cloudy. Apearal through out the day would change. In the morning jeans and a T-Shirt would be fine. But towards the afternoon a jacket along with the morning apperal. Not very windy. But around 2:15 in the afternoon it hailed for about 5 minutes. Then rained for maybe around 20 or so minutes. Tomorrow will be partly cloudy with a high of 81F and a low of 54F, and no chances of precipitation.

Tornadoes ripping through central Arkansas killed at least one person and injured about two dozen others Friday, and more bad weather was possible Saturday, authorities said. About two dozen people were hurt during the storms, but local officials who reported the deaths and injuries to the state agency did not immediately release the severity of the injuries or details about how the individuals were hurt.

The sun came up a little later than usual. It was cloudy through out the day and was about the same temperature all through mid day. There was a little rain but not more than half an inch. The oil spill area is growing in the Gulf of Mexico, and with winds shifting by the weekend, slick oil could move closer to the Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi shores. Mary Yoon has the details.(AccuWeather)
